About the Ferrari Luce

On 25 May 2026, at a dedicated reveal event in Rome, Ferrari unveiled what may be the most consequential new model in the company's 79-year history: the Ferrari Luce — the first fully electric production Ferrari ever built. The name translates simply as "light" in Italian, and it carries the full weight of what that word implies: a new era, a new direction, and an entirely new way of experiencing what Ferrari has always promised.

The Luce is built around Ferrari's bespoke 880 V electric platform, developed entirely in-house at Maranello and assembled at the dedicated E-Building — a purpose-built facility that represents Ferrari's full commitment to the electric future. Four radial-flow permanent-magnet synchronous motors — one per wheel — deliver a combined peak output of 1,113 hp and extraordinary torque: 8,000 Nm at the rear axle, 3,500 Nm at the front. In Boost mode, peak power exceeds 1,050 hp and is available in under a second, with motors spinning to 25,500 rpm (rear) and 30,000 rpm (front). The result: 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a governed top speed of 310 km/h.

Energy comes from a 122 kWh NMC battery pack from SK On, delivering a WLTP-estimated range of 530 km (330 miles), with 350 kW DC fast-charging capability. The architecture achieves a near-perfect 47:53 front-to-rear weight distribution, and the all-wheel-drive system incorporates torque vectoring logic derived directly from Ferrari's Formula 1 programme.

Interior by Jony Ive / LoveFrom: The cabin of the Ferrari Luce was co-designed by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson of LoveFrom — the studio responsible for the iPhone, the iMac, and the Apple Watch. The result is a masterclass in tactile luxury: analogue gauges, physical switchgear, Samsung Display–developed Gorilla Glass screens, and a 21-speaker, 3,000-watt audio system. It is, by objective assessment, the most sophisticated and resolved interior Ferrari has ever produced.

The Luce seats five — a first in Ferrari history, made possible by the absence of a longitudinal combustion engine and transaxle gearbox. Rear coach doors open as wide as the front items for near-symmetrical access. The body style is genuinely novel: elements of shooting brake, grand tourer, and sedan are resolved into a single cohesive form shaped first by aerodynamics, then translated into design language by LoveFrom. At every speed, it is unmistakably, entirely, Ferrari.

Unlike previous Ferrari limited editions, the Luce is a regular production model — it will sit permanently in the Ferrari lineup alongside internal combustion and hybrid models. However, production in the first model years is strictly capacity-constrained, with global demand substantially exceeding available units. Industry analysts and Ferrari's own dealer network confirm that initial European allocations are extremely limited, with priority given to established Ferrari client relationships. David & Co holds a number of these early positions — available now to qualified buyers.

Ferrari Luce Allocation — FAQ

What is a Ferrari Luce allocation slot and why does it matter?

+

A Ferrari Luce allocation slot is a confirmed production and delivery position in Ferrari's E-Building manufacturing queue, guaranteeing the buyer a place for a specific configuration of the new Luce. Because demand for the Luce substantially exceeds Ferrari's initial production capacity, allocation slots — particularly early delivery positions — are effectively the only way to secure the car within the first production years. David & Co holds a limited number of these early positions on behalf of qualified clients.

What are the Ferrari Luce's key technical specifications?

+

The Ferrari Luce uses four radial-flow permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors — one per wheel — producing a combined peak of 1,113 hp (830 kW). The rear axle delivers 8,000 Nm and the front 3,500 Nm to the wheels. A 122 kWh NMC battery from SK On provides 530 km of WLTP range, with 350 kW DC fast-charging. The car accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reaches a governed top speed of 310 km/h, with a 47:53 front-to-rear weight distribution and seating for five.

Who designed the Ferrari Luce interior?

+

The interior of the Ferrari Luce was co-designed by Ferrari's Centro Stile and LoveFrom — the design collective founded by Sir Jony Ive (former Chief Design Officer of Apple, responsible for the iMac, iPhone, and Apple Watch) and Marc Newson. The cabin combines analogue gauges, physical controls, Samsung Display-developed Gorilla Glass screens, and a 21-speaker, 3,000-watt audio system. It is by broad consensus the most sophisticated interior Ferrari has ever produced for a production model.

What is the price of the Ferrari Luce in Europe?

+

Ferrari has confirmed a European starting price of approximately €550,000 (around $647,000 USD at current rates), according to Bloomberg and official Ferrari pricing communications. This makes the Luce comfortably the most expensive regular production Ferrari currently available, sitting well above the V12 Purosangue SUV at approximately €430,000. Final configured prices will vary based on personalisation, with Ferrari's Tailor Made programme offering extensive bespoke options at additional cost.

When will Ferrari Luce deliveries begin?

+

Ferrari has confirmed that production will commence at the dedicated E-Building in Maranello in late 2026, with first customer deliveries scheduled from October 2026. The main global delivery wave is expected to run through Q1 2027. Early allocation slot holders will receive the first production positions. Buyers who secure their slot through David & Co today will be among the first in Europe to take delivery.

Can I still order a Ferrari Luce without an allocation slot?

+

Ferrari opened its order books at the May 25 world premiere, but all indications from Ferrari's dealer network suggest that early production positions are already committed. Buyers approaching Ferrari directly without an existing client relationship — or attempting to order through dealers without pre-allocated slots — face significant waiting periods extending well beyond 2027. Securing a slot through David & Co provides direct, guaranteed access to one of our held early production positions.

Can I choose my own colour and specification?

+

Yes. Every allocation slot we hold is for a fully unconfigured build position — meaning the buyer has complete freedom to specify colour, interior trim, upholstery, wheels, and all other factory options, including access to Ferrari's Tailor Made bespoke personalisation programme. David & Co accompanies clients through the full configuration process and can coordinate access to Ferrari's Maranello configuration studios where available.

Is the Ferrari Luce an investment-grade vehicle?

+

The Luce's investment potential is substantial and well-supported by precedent. Ferrari's most significant new model introductions — the Enzo, the LaFerrari, the SF90 — have consistently commanded substantial premiums over list price in the secondary market in their early years of production, driven by demand exceeding supply. The Luce's unique position as Ferrari's first EV, combined with constrained early production and extraordinary specification, makes early allocation slots particularly compelling as both a collector acquisition and a tactical investment. As with all collectible vehicles, values are not guaranteed.

How does the Ferrari Luce compare to the Porsche Taycan and other luxury EVs?

+

The Ferrari Luce enters a category occupied by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, Rimac Nevera, and Lucid Air Sapphire, but occupies a fundamentally different position in terms of brand prestige, exclusivity, and price. At €550,000, it is more than double the price of the Taycan Turbo GT and directly targets buyers for whom the Ferrari name — and everything it implies about engineering, heritage, and emotional engagement — is the primary consideration. No other electric grand tourer combines Ferrari's Formula 1 pedigree, the LoveFrom interior, and a guaranteed production cap at this level.
